Furthering our Understanding and Response to Vaccine Hesitancy: A Multi-Phased Mixed Methods Study (Phase I: Interviews)

Please fill out the form below and we will be in touch shortly.

Participants needed: 18 and older

What is the purpose of this study?

The purpose of this research study is to further understand and prevent information and communication challenges from influencing vaccine acceptance in the future. We want to learn from people’s experiences during COVID-19, especially causes of vaccine hesitancy, sources of vaccine information, and what helps people decide to get vaccinated.

Information gathered from the interviews will then support subsequent phases of this study whereby we will work together with the public and other stakeholders to develop digital messages that help people understand vaccines better and encourage future novel and routine vaccine uptake.

Am I eligible?

You can take part in this study if:

  • You live in Canada
  • You are 18 years of age or older

To participate in this study, you don’t need to have any specific COVID-19 vaccination status. Participants might be fully or partially vaccinated, or may have decided not to receive any vaccines against COVID-19.

What does participation involve?

Interviews will be conducted through a web-based platform (e.g. Zoom). The interview would take place at a mutually agreed upon time. We expect the session to take about 40 minutes.

Some of the things the interview facilitator will ask you about could include:

1) how information and communication challenges (e.g., mis- and dis-information) relate to your decisions about vaccines; and

2) barriers and facilitators to effective messaging and communication for choosing to vaccinate

In appreciation for participating in this study, you will receive a $25 gift card.
