Robert Anderson PhD
Dr. Robert Anderson’s research over the past year has focused mainly on dengue virus which causes 100 million cases of dengue fever annually and for which no vaccine is yet available. Together with collaborators at Dalhousie University, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Tainan, Taiwan, and Khon Kaen University in Khon Kaen, Thailand, Dr. Anderson has published studies which reveal the mechanism of dengue disease and insights into potential vaccine design. This collaboration has also led to membership in a research consortium involving NCKU, State University of New York and Technion (Israel) dedicated to international infectious disease collaboration. In addition to research collaboration, Dr. Anderson has paved the way for Dalhousie medical student electives at the above mentioned universities in Taiwan and Thailand.
