Dr. Nelly Amenyogbe

Biography

Dr. Amenyogbe is a Post Doctoral Fellow at Dalhousie University and an executive member of Optimmunize, an international, not-for-profit organization focused on vaccine program optimization. Her current projects focus on how metabolism influences the immune response, especially colostrum feeding for newborns, which may influence the efficacy of immune-targeting therapies. Amenyogbe’s previous research showed how the tuberculosis vaccine BCG reduces risk to die from newborn sepsis within days of immunization. She was granted the Research Excellence, Diversity, and Inclusion Early Career Transition Award from CIHR in 2023 and the Raine Priming Fellowship from the Raine Medical Foundation in 2022.
