Understanding the effects of public health outbreak control policies and implementation on individuals and communities: A path to improving COVID-19 policy effectiveness
Participants needed: Seniors and COVID-19 patients and their families
We are inviting you to participate in a focus group to discuss your experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic and how the COVID-19 public health measures affected you. This study is being conducted by researchers at the Canadian Center for Vaccinology (CCfV) at Dalhousie University in Halifax, in collaboration with researchers and health care providers across Canada and Bangladesh. It is funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council through the Canadian 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Rapid Research Funding Opportunity, Research Nova Scotia’s Rapid Response Grant, and Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation.
The purpose of these focus groups is to obtain the views and opinions of a range of people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and understand how they experienced the COVID-19 public health measures. We will be conducting focus groups with members of the public (e.g., seniors, and COVID-19 patients and their families). We have identified you as a potential participant and would appreciate your participation in a 90-minute focus group. The focus group will be held either using a videoconference program (e.g. Zoom) or in person. We will only hold in person focus groups if public health measures in place at the time of the scheduled focus group will allow us to do so. As a token of our appreciation for participating in the focus group, you will be offered a $50 gift card to thank you for your time/participation and pay for any costs you may incur (e.g., internet costs or parking fees).
For more information and/or if you are interested in participating in a focus group, please contact Melissa Kervin at 902-470-7583 or by email at Melissa.Kervin@iwk.nshealth.ca.
Your participation is voluntary and greatly appreciated.
