2025 Picchione Symposium on Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes
Date: July 2, 2025 | 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Location: Theatre C, Tupper Medical Building 5850 College St, Halifax
The 2025 Picchione Symposium on Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes will take place on July 2nd, with additional talks taking place July 3rd. This year’s lecture will be hosted by Canadian Center for Vaccinology investigator Dr. Tobias Kollmann.
Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes (APOs) are a serious global health issue, referring to a range of complications during pregnancy that negatively impact the pregnant person or developing infant. These events can lead to lifelong conditions and can present significant mortality risk. Understanding the mechanisms leading to APOs and developing better methods of prevention is crucial to improving health outcomes in pregnancy for both the pregnant person and infant.
On July 2nd, leading experts will share insights from their research on the mechanisms, causes, impacts, and prevention of adverse pregnancy outcomes. Members of the public can attend any of the talks taking place throughout the day.
Additional lectures on Cell Mediated Immune Assays and Maternal Vaccination will be open to the public the following day, July 3rd.
