Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director of Finance (CCfV), and the CIRN Program Manager, the Finance Clerk provides financial support services to ensure the effective, efficient, and accurate financial operations of CCfV grants and contracts, including support for the Canadian Immunization Research Network (CIRN).

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare budgets, financial statements, and payments for all CCfV/CIRN related accounts/contracts.
  • Analyze reports, forecasts, and annual budget assumptions for consistent practices.
  • Assist partnering institutions (Dalhousie, IWKNSH) with collection and reconciliation of year end forms from 100+ study sites.
  • Respond to all questions/inquiries about payments, budgets, contracts, and financial status in relation to the projects.
  • Provide financial guidance and detailed financial reports to CCfV/CIRN project managers/investigators, as well as to CIRN Management Committee regarding decisions on selecting new projects.
  • Review statements of work and draft contracts/amendments accordingly; track contracts/subsite agreements daily, providing real-time status of contracts/sub-site agreements.

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Business/Accounting, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in an accounting or finance role is required. Experience in research administration/non-profit/research setting is strongly preferred. Proficiency in the use of payroll, accounting, word processing, database and spreadsheet, and email (i.e. Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, along with excellent time management skills and experience. Ability to prioritize with excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail is required.
